Family travel

Flying with your family

Babies, school-age children and grandparents each have their own rules. We go through them with you one traveller at a time.

For bookings made through Aisha Enterprises. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

Infants and children. Airlines set their own age bands, commonly an infant fare for a baby under two who sits on a parent's lap and a child fare up to a certain age. The age that counts is usually the age on the day of each flight, so a baby who turns two before the return flight may need a seat on that leg. We check these dates for you. Many airlines allow only one lap infant per adult.

Documents. Every traveller, including a newborn, normally needs their own passport and, where required, their own visa. If a child is travelling with only one parent, some countries ask for extra consent papers. We tell you what to verify, but the embassy or immigration authority has the final word.

Elderly parents. We can pass requests for wheelchair help, special meals or seating to the airline and tell you what the airline has confirmed. Airline baggage rules for strollers, car seats and medical equipment differ, so we check them for your specific fare.

How it works

  1. List every traveller

Full passport names and dates of birth, including infants.

  2. We check age and document rules

We explain fare types, seating for babies and what papers each person should carry.

  3. Quote with requests noted

Your quote lists fares, baggage and any assistance requests we will pass to the airline.

  4. Booking and confirmation

After approval and payment, we book and share what the airline has confirmed.

Questions about this service

Does my one-year-old need a ticket?

Yes, a baby needs an infant ticket even without a seat of their own. It usually costs a fraction of the adult fare plus some taxes, depending on the airline.

Can my 70-year-old mother get a wheelchair at the airport?

Airlines generally offer this on request. We add the request to the booking and tell you once the airline has noted it. Please ask for it at the time of booking.

My son is 16 and flying alone. Is that allowed?

Airlines have their own rules for young people travelling alone, and some offer an escort service for a fee. We check the rules for his age and route.
